The advanced production capabilities at UPC accommodate a wide range of profile designs and finished product sizes and complexities, including co-extrusion and tri-extrusion processes utilizing a variety of common and exotic compounds.

The wide selection of equipment types and sizes available at our facility gives UPC the flexibility to assure our customers that our production process will be optimized to their specific project

• Profile extrusions are produced by 7 main extruders of varying sizes, screw-types and capacities
• Co-extruded profiles are accomplished by mating 1 or more ‘portable’ extruders with one of the main extruders to produce the desired product

Post-extrusion and in-process services

Depending upon the product and the customer specification, the extrusion often requires some form of post-profile processing. At UPC, post-extrusion processing services can be integrated into the extrusion run, simplifying the complete manufacturing process and reducing down-stream manufacturing costs. We offer:

• vacuum sizing (during the extrusion process)
• punching
• part/batch number labeling
• notching
• slitting
• taping
• printing
• cutting to a specified length, for either convenient shipping or finished product length

Many of these post-extrusion processes can be performed by downstream equipment already available in our large inventory. For special needs, our staff can design and build whatever tooling you need, all in-house.
